Woodlands cc Custom full tang sloyd knife is the flagship of our carving range. Boasts a precious ground, O1 toolsteel blade and full tang construction, this sloyd knife has become a popular choice of woodcarver carvers of all levels of experience. The distal taper and the flat Scandi ground to a zero edge blade at a bevel angle of 25⁰ (inclusive) 12.5⁰ on either side, this is a very capable, fine cutting, nimble and accurate carving tool. The full tang construction increases the overall strength and balance of this beautifully handcrafted piece. While the rounded spine adds to a more comfortable cutting experience.

The detailing knife is designed for precision and built to last, this custom full tang detailing carving knife is the perfect companion for fine woodworking and intricate carving work. Whether you're shaping delicate patterns or refining tight corners, this knife delivers unmatched control and accuracy. Crafted from high-quality steel, the blade is honed to a razor-sharp edge, allowing for clean, effortless cuts through a variety of woods. The full tang construction provides superior strength, balance, and durability—ensuring the knife performs reliably even under demanding use. The ergonomic handle is shaped for comfort during extended carving sessions, offering a secure grip and excellent maneuverability. Every detail of this knife has been carefully considered to give artisans the confidence to bring their ideas to life.

O1 toolsteel is a tried and tested alloy, being in use from around the 1930s. From machine plainer blades, carving tool, bushcraft and outdoors knives and much more.   Each knife is carefully heat treated to a hardness of 60-61 HRC, which I find to be the "sweet spot" to get the most out of this awesome old-school steel grade, providing the perfect balance between hardness/edge retention and durability.

Please note:  Each and every blade that leaves our workshop receives the same heat treatment (*specific to each steel grade in question*) and testing procedure. Regardless of how small or large the blade size or batch quantity. I believe, that a correct heat treatment is the most important part of the manufacturing process.
